I am really happy to be involved in this new project from Dee Byrne. It’s so much fun to play with these brilliant musicians. The band also includes: Nick Malcolm, Tom Ward, Olie Brice and Andrew Lisle. 

Outlines, the name of Dee’s new sextet, play original compositions. The music evolved out of her Developing Your Creative Practice project (funded by Arts Council England.) 

Using small visual art sketches as a complementary creative channel, Dee experimented with composing short musical sketches that stood alone as artistic statements. These short statements are ‘Outlines’ – serving as a springboard for this dynamic ensemble to go in new, exciting directions every time. 

The sextet first played these compositions at The Vortex, London in September 2021, in preparation for their album recording in October and the album will be released on Whirlwind Recordings in Spring 2023.
