AURUM TRIO, the new piano trio from pianist/composer Rebecca Nash features Danish bassist Henrik Jensen and British drummer Dave Smith.
Rebecca Nash’s new project, Aurum, is a bold statement of intent — where raw energy and deep musicality collide. Inspired by the curious tale of the sunken treasure ship The Merchant Royal, the music inhabits a rebellious, darkly futuristic universe.
“Nash’s ethereal melodies and densely saturated harmonies, along with Smith’s punk-spirited restless drumming and Jensen’s warm resonant tones, plunge listeners into a shadowy, realm that evoke the mystery of the ocean seabed.”

The photos below document a pilot / test drive workshop delivered as part of the early development of a new outreach project. It took place at a Bristol-based school in Spring 2025. Led by Rebecca Nash and artist Pat Vale.
The images below show participants taking part in the poster-making workshops, together with some of their ideas, demonstrated in the early drafts of their designs. This captures the creative process in action and highlights the enthusiasm and imagination the children brought to the project.
The posters created by the participants are vibrant, imaginative, and full of personality, reflecting each child’s individual perspective and creative voice. Through their designs, the children explored ways to visually represent music, experimenting with colour, composition, and typography to capture the energy and mood of the upcoming performance.
The range of styles and approaches demonstrates not only technical creativity but also thoughtful decision-making and problem-solving, as each participant considered how to communicate ideas to an audience. The finished pieces are more than just promotional materials—they are expressions of the children’s engagement with art and music, and evidence of the project’s success in encouraging self-expression and confidence.
